How do adult celebrities approach aging-Lets hear from some ageless celebrities? What do they think about getting older – do they embrace it or wish they could turn back the clock to when they were young? Read how 5 Ageless Celebrities Over 70 view life, retirement, love and growing older.
On dying, “You either die young or you get older. That’s the reality. I don’t want to die young. I never did want to die young. I’m too curious about life. All lives have their ups and downs. You have two choices. You have to embrace it and allow it to happen. It’s the natural rolling on of life. It happens to every single person on the planet. It’s just a part of being a human being.”
On self-care, “It’s not an attempt to keep young, but you should pay attention to health, don’t smoke. Do everything but not too much of anything,” she said. “I like no airbrushing. I always sort of argue against it in my L’Oreal ads.”
On looking older, “It’s a given, there’s nothing you can do about it, so you may as well make fun of it. It’s interesting when you walk down the street and you see younger people and they ignore you – their peripheral vision sees that you’re one or two generations older than they are, so they’re not interested. You become a part of another class of person.
On life going by fast, “When you’re younger, you hear people talk about how it went by so fast but when you get there, you look back and find out its true. The kids grew up so fast, where did the years go? Now they’re in college… its just true.“
On looking back with regrets, “I don’t regret anything. “I feel like I’ve made what I would call mistakes. I picked the wrong movie, or I didn’t pursue a character, but everything you do is part of you and you get something from it. Having the idea and excitement of being in these situations and places, they are more than just memories, they create your life. Everything you do is part of you and you get something from it.”
On maintaining a youthful spirit, “There’s a part of you that always remains a child, no matter how mature you get, how sophisticated or weary. I was kind of a wild child. I don’t know if it’s in the DNA or what. I got good grades in school but a D in conduct. I would question everything, very much like Yentl. You get older, and it’s a bit of a shock. I still feel so young inside. And that’s me in the mirror? It must be harder to age if you were known as a beauty queen. So I’m kind of fortunate. But, in truth, I’m happier than I ever was in my life. I have a husband who loves me, and I have this beautiful piece of the Earth.”
On the secret to his longevity, “Discipline and exercise. I try not to overeat. One of the things that I discovered somewhere back down the line was that eating, for us particularly here, has become a habit, not necessarily a need. So if you try to keep it down to need, it’s going to be much better for you.“
On regrets, “Regret? “I’m not sure. Would I have done anything differently? I would have avoided a couple of women, but then my sons wouldn’t have been born. I’ve had moments when I wished my career had gotten started earlier. I could have done more active stuff. But I’m also grateful that it got started when it did because there are no guarantees. It didn’t have to get started at all.
