One silver lining of those golden years is that you get to take advantage of senior discounts on meals at your favorite restaurants.
There’s nothing quite like treating yourself to a lip-smacking restaurant meal with your family, friends and loved ones.
Sadly, due to the coronavirus, many restaurants are focusing on drive-thru and takeout services in a bid to contain the virus.
So, to help you out, we’ve compiled a fully up-to-date list of restaurants and the discounts they offer to seniors.
Many restaurants that run as franchises tend to offer their own dedicated discounts. If you’re ever unsure whether a restaurant offers a discount to seniors, ring them up to confirm.
As of March 19 2020, McDonald’s are only opening their drive-thrus and takeaway restaurants as the COVID-19 crisis plays out.
Seniors can still get discounts by checking with their local restaurant, though. As McDonald’s is a franchise, each restaurant will run their own offers and discounts. Find more information just here.
Wendy’s are currently offering free delivery if you use Grubhub or Postmates.
For information about any senior discounts, visit the website of your local branch as each branch is responsible for designing their own discounts.
Burger King is a franchise so any offers or senior discounts depend on what each branch decides to offer.
Sometimes, branches offer information on their website. Failing this, call your local Burger King and someone should be able to inform you of what seniors discounts are up for grabs.
There are always discount coupons online that seniors can download and use in Chick-fil-A.
While the company website does not specify any discount schemes, you can find current coupons for senior discounts at Chick-fil-A with a simple Google search.
Also a franchise, the old favorite KFC is currently only running drive-thru and takeout until the coronavirus crisis subsides.
In the meantime, you can contact your local restaurant and ask them what discounts are available to seniors.
Some branches offer a senior discount one evening weekly while others run their own discounts so it’s up to you to contact them to find out what’s on offer at your local Applebee’s.
There are also sites offering coupons but many of these are dead links so you could easily waste hours on a fruitless quest.

The Italian food chain runs different offers. To learn about all offers including senior discounts, sign up to their e-club or follow their Facebook page. Once you’ve signed up you’ll be notified of any offers at Olive Garden. You’ll also be notified of other restaurants in the Darden group.
If you sign up to receive deals and discounts at Arby’s just here, they will notify you of any senior discounts as they arise. When you sign up, you’ll agree to receive notifications of any special offers, so you won’t miss out.
Denny’s offers 15% off for members of the American Association of Retired Person (AARP). Find further information right here.
Bonefish Grill is another restaurant offering a discount to members of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Seniors who can show they’re a member receive a discount of 10% on food and non-alcoholic drinks.
For pancake lovers, if you’re over 55, get 10% off your check. The discount applies to both drinks and food.
The International House of Pancakes makes delicious pancakes and burgers.
Another Italian offer for seniors. Many dishes on the menu are recipes from the owner’s mom.
Carrabba’s operate reward schemes for anyone with an AARP membership card. When you pay for your meal, they’ll deduct 10% senior discount.

Outback Steakhouse also operates the AARP senior discount scheme. You can get 10% off the whole check when you show your membership card.
The steakhouse is also offering free delivery throughout March and April due to the virus outbreak.
The community-minded Friendly’s offer a delivery and takeaway service. They have currently suspended their dine-in service during the COVID-19 crisis to help contain the spread of the virus.
When they are open, get 10% off a meal, a free coffee with breakfast, or a free sundae with an evening meal.

If you’re over 62, you can join Fazoli’s 62 Club. Members of the 62 Club can enjoy special discounts on selected menu items.
The Italian restaurant offers an online ordering service with an app you can download.
